How kinetic energy and speed are related?

Kinetic energy is the energy it posses due to its movement. The amount of kinetic energy an object has depends on two things: mass and speed. An inert (not moving) object has no energy.The force taken to move an object could increase the speed and therefore, the object has kinetic energy. Also how heavy something affects how much force is needed to move the object and how fast it'll go.
