6. they are a linear pair and are therefor equal

2x+5=4x-35
minus 2x bot sides
5=2x-35
add 35 both sides
40=2x
divide 2
20=x
x=20
sub back

2x+5=2(20)=5=40+5=45

the angle is 45 degrees and x=20 degeree



7.
linear pair has equal angles
so
m1=m2=x+1=2x-5

x+1=2x-5
minus x both sides
1=x-5
add 5
6=x
m1=x+11=6+11=17

each angle is 17 degrees
