Why are there more hebivores than carnivores in a healthy ecosystem?

Herbivores eat plants and carnivores eat meat so if there were more carnivores there would be no mean left and it would run out quickly.

as more vegan source of food is available as compared to  source of food for carnivores ...

so, to maintain the balance of ecosystem .. there are more herbivores than carnivores
