Speed is the rate at which an object changes position. For example, if a car is going 45mph, that means it changes 45 miles in 1 hours.

Velocity is speed with a direction. An examples would be if a car starts at 0 and goes west 45 mph, the cars velocity is +45 mph west.

Velocity is distance divided by time
