Since it is growing at 5% per year, at the end of each year the population will be 1.05 times what is was at the start of the year.

 

Start with 110,000 and multiply by 1.05 a total of 16 times to get the population at the end of 16 years.

 

P = 110,000 x 1.0316 ≅ 176,518
