in this case, y = -5x + 2, we can see that m = -5

i.e. y - y1 = m(x-x1)  ----> substitute values from x1, y1 and m

y - (4)  = -5(x-(-1))

y - 4  = -5(x+1)

y - 4  = -5x-5

y = -5x-5 +4
