It is essential to the concept known as "place". In Geography we can describe a place by explaining two kinds of characteristics; physical and human. When we talked about the physical characteristics, we consider the environment and all the geological, hydrologic, atmospheric, and biological processes. When we talk about the human characteristics, we describe a place in relation to human ideas and actions.
