since 3/8 do have to sing, you need to find the amount that do not have to sing. think of an easier problem. 10 apples are on a tree. 5 fall down. how many apples are still on the tree? all you had to do was subtract to find out that the answer was five. in this same cas all you have to do is subtract 3/8 from the total which is 8/8 or 1. you will get 5/8 as your answer.
